Abbey Wood Caravan Club

Abbey Wood Club site is currently undergoing exciting redevelopment to add additional all-weather pitches – some of which will be serviced – two new motorhome waste points and electric hook ups in the camping field. The site is open all year and will remain open during the works. Whilst these improvements take place there may be some noise from machinery. We’ll make every effort to keep disruption to a minimum.

The Abbey Wood Club Site feels positively rural when you reach this gently sloping verdant site. Its mature tree screening and spacious grounds make this a ‘green oasis’, with tent pitches and pods also available. This site’s unique selling point is its location – there are shops and good railway connections, providing frequent services to central London in just 35 minutes, within walking distance of the caravan site. Alternatively, nearby Greenwich offers its own blend of fascinating attractions, including the famous observatory and National Maritime Museum.

Camping in London at Abbey Wood Club Site

There’s no better place for camping in London than at the Caravan Club’s Abbey Wood Site, you don’t have to be a member to stay either. With convenient access to the Abbey Wood tube station, campers can access Central London within 1 hour, while also benefiting from an rural feeling location and a picturesque campsite.

Camping pitches are positioned in the middle of the site with convenient access to one of three wash blocks. A children’s playground is also situated next to the camping area, making it ideal for families. Bookings can be made online for tents up to a maximum size of 5mx5m (approximately a 4-man tent). If you have a larger tent or specific requirements, please call the site directly – site staff will be pleased to help with your booking. You can also book a glamping holiday on this site.

River cruises operate from nearby Abbey Wood Club Site between Greenwich, Tower Bridge, Westminster, Kew, Richmond and Hampton Court. Open all year, this is a busy caravan site and is very popular with European visitors during the summer months. There are good reasons to visit Abbey Wood throughout the year though. The Christmas Lights, shopping at the January Sales, the London Marathon, Excel Centre and the Chelsea Flower show can all be enjoyed from this scenic, yet well placed, site.
